Salary: $26.00 - $35.00 per hour (depending on certifications and experience)Overview:A reputable construction services firm is looking for a WAQTC Certified Special Inspector to support inspection and materials testing across northern Idaho and eastern Washington. This field-based role requires hands-on expertise, strong technical skills, and a commitment to quality and safety.Key Responsibilities:Perform field inspections and materials testing in accordance with WAQTC procedures and project specifications.Monitor construction activities for compliance with approved plans and applicable standards.Conduct testing and inspection of aggregates, asphalt, base materials, and in-place densities.Prepare accurate, timely electronic field reports and record test results on mobile devices.Operate and maintain field/lab equipment such as nuclear gauges, density equipment, and sampling tools.Communicate professionally with contractors, engineers, and internal team members.Travel throughout the service region for onsite inspections.Required Certifications:WAQTC:AggregateAsphalt IEmbankment & BaseIn-Place DensityPreferred Certifications:ACI Field Testing Technician Grade I or higherNuclear Gauge Safety TrainingICC Certifications in:Reinforced ConcretePre-Stressed ConcreteStructural Steel and BoltingStructural WeldingSpray-Applied & Intumescent FireproofingWhat You'll Need:Positive attitude and strong customer service approachExcellent time management and attention to detailComfortable using tablets or mobile devices for reportingValid driver's license and acceptable driving recordAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and maneuver 75 lbs with assistanceWillingness to drive to project sites throughout the regionBenefits:100% employee-owned company (ESOP)Company-paid medical, dental, and vision coverageShort- and long-term disability, life insurance, FSA, and HSA optionsPaid holidays and PTO401(k) with up to 4% company match
