SUMMARY: The Technician Training Specialist supports the development and execution of technical training programs for maintenance technicians in an aviation MRO environment. This role ensures employees are trained and qualified to perform their duties in compliance with FAA regulations, OEM requirements, company policies, and safety standards.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop, deliver, and continuously improve technical training for maintenance, inspection, and repair personnel.
Conduct onboarding and recurrent training programs for new and existing technicians.
Facilitate hands-on and classroom instruction in areas such as aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, troubleshooting, tooling, and safety practices.
Coordinate with department leads and Quality Assurance to identify training needs and knowledge gaps.
Assist in maintaining compliance with FAA Part 145 and other regulatory requirements.
Provide coaching, mentoring, and on-the-job training to support technician development and certification readiness.
Partner with Quality, Safety, and Operations to identify skill gaps and support continuous improvement efforts.
Assist in implementing new technology, tools, or procedures through structured training initiatives.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree or A&P/Technical degree
5+ years of experience in aviation maintenance, preferably within an MRO environment.
OR an additional 3 years specific work experience in lieu of degree.
In-depth understanding of FAA Part 145 regulations and aviation maintenance practices.
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital learning tools.
Interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, management, and support functions fostering teamwork.
Demonstrated track record of dependability, accountability, and problem-solving.
Proven record of reliable performance and consistent attendance.
Foster a positive attitude even in challenging situations.
10+ years of technical experience in the aviation industry.
A&P Certification or equivalent technical training.
Prior experience as a trainer, lead technician, or in a training-related role.
Experience using LMS platforms and creating e-learning content.
