Our team members are critical in our mission of supporting waste warriors and keeping communities safe and clean.The Cost Accounting Manager provides guidance and leadership to the Cost Accounting team. The Cost Accounting department supports a cross-functional team to support accurately valued inventory. It also provides analysis and reporting for the plant’s operations and communicates progress against targets to leadership.YOUR IMPACTManage and oversee the cost accounting function, including standard cost development and variance analysisPrepare, review and present financial schedules such as obsolescence, accuracy, valuation and month-end reportsLead and/or participate in ad hoc teams to improve processes, eliminate waste, and assist in continuous improvement of identified opportunitiesPrepare and verify product costs in support of all cost-based pricing contracts and intercompany transfer pricingParticipate in design and validation efforts in JDE improvementsProvide oversight for the plant controls and risk prevention while driving process efficiency in plantManage inventory observations and cycle counts programs with warehouse managerCoordinate with internal and external auditors on audit and internal controlsProvide costing of manufactured productsSupport Oshkosh/McNeilus in reaching financial KPIs and strategic objectivesAssist in the month end, quarter end and the year-end close processesDevelop tools and techniques to analyze data and identify potential issuesAnalyze complex financial scenarios to provide detailed insight into business drivers and potential value creation opportunitiesDevelop and implement ongoing process improvementCollects data for yearly Operations Review, Budget and Mid-Year Forecast and other reviews as per requestProduce ad hoc analyses and report for site, group and corporate management as requestedBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.Eight (8) or more years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or treasury.One (1) or more years of managerial or supervisory experience.Ability to travel 10%.STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:Accurate and capable of complex analytical reasoning and can demonstrate strong organizational and analytical skillsPrevious Cost Accounting experienceExperience leading others in a fast pace work environment.High level of expertise with financial analysis tools including spreadsheets, databases, word processing software, SharePoint, and query writing softwareStrong verbal and written communication skillsFamiliarity with U.S. and international accounting regulationsUnderstanding of ERP Systems and Relational DatabasesExperience within manufacturing environmentsWORKING CONDITIONS:Physical Demands: Frequent Hearing, Talking, Visual, Sitting, Typing; Occasional Standing, Walking/Running, Fine Dexterity, Manual Dexterity; Seldom Driving, Bending/Kneeling, Upper Extremity Repetitive Motion, Lifting/Carrying up to 20lbs., Pushing/Pulling up to 20lbs.#LI-KL1#OSK17Oshkosh is committed to working with and offering reasonable accommodations to job applicants with disabilities.
