Customer: Department of Defense (DoD)Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Microsoft Power Platform Architect / SME to join our team supporting the Department of Defense (DoD). This role focuses on designing secure, scalable, and enterprise-grade solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform while embedding DevSecOps practices into solution delivery.This is a hands-on architecture position requiring strong technical expertise in solution design, governance, automation, and integration of low-code platforms with enterprise systems. The successful candidate will serve as both a technical SME and trusted advisor, working closely with business and IT stakeholders to deliver mission-critical solutions that align with DoD security and compliance requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesArchitect & Design secure, scalable Power Platform solutions (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages; Dataverse; integrations with M365/SharePoint/Graph API).Define and implement Power Platform governance and guardrails, ensuring compliance with DoD security frameworks.Lead capacity planning and performance management, ensuring Power Platform environments are optimized for scalability, resilience, and mission demand.Drive projects toward automation-first delivery, enabling self-service, reducing manual processes, and implementing reusable components.Embed DevSecOps practices into the Power Platform lifecycle, including automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, security scanning, and continuous monitoring.Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate administrative tasks and system integrations.Provide overflow support for Microsoft Exchange (mailboxes, groups, and troubleshooting).Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into secure, scalable architectures.Lead architectural reviews and guide teams on integration patterns, RBAC, and zero-trust security principles.Develop documentation, architecture diagrams, and knowledge repositories to support solution transparency and sustainability.Advise leadership and stakeholders with clear, diplomatic communication—balancing innovation with operational integrity.Bring structure to complexity, thrive in fast-paced environments, and remain composed in ambiguity.Required Education, Experience & SkillsActive Top Secret Clearance.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).10+ years of IT experience (6+ years with undergraduate degree, 5+ with graduate degree).Proven expertise as an Architect or SME designing Power Platform enterprise solutions.Advanced experience with Power Apps (Canvas & Model-Driven), Power Automate, and Dataverse.Strong PowerShell scripting and experience with Microsoft Graph API.Familiarity with Microsoft Exchange administration.Experience defining RBAC models, compliance frameworks, and security controls.Strong problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to communicate with non-technical stakeholders.Demonstrated experience integrating Power Platform into secure enterprise environments.Preferred Education, Experience & SkillsExperience with Microsoft 365 administration & DoD security best practices.Hands-on experience with Power BI, SharePoint Online, and cloud integrations.Microsoft certifications in Power Platform, Security, or Cloud Architecture.Experience applying DevSecOps pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or equivalent) to low-code environments.Experience with DoD cloud environments (DISA IL4/IL5, GCC High, etc.).Prior DoD or federal customer support experience.Experience working effectively in a remote/distributed team environment.
