- Deliver individualized SPED instruction to high school students in a self-contained classroom
- Develop and implement IEPs and behavior intervention plans
- Adapt curriculum to meet a wide range of learning needs and abilities
- Use student data to monitor progress and design differentiated lessons
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
- Establish and maintain effective classroom management strategies
- Maintain communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress and goals
- Participate in ARD meetings and implement team decisions
- Incorporate technology and assistive tools to support SPED learning
- Stay up to date on best practices in special education and classroom strategies
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with SPED documentation requirements
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate
- Texas Special Education (SPED) certification
- ESL certification preferred
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs
- Strong understanding of SPED compliance, instructional methods, and behavior strategies
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team
