- Oversee and complete routine preventative maintenance on distribution / operational equipment including forklifts, rider jacks, battery chargers and scales
- Complete routine PMs (preventative maintenance) on facility MHE (Material Handling Equipment)
- Cleans and lubricates machine parts, using rags, brushes, grease gun, and oil can; paints machines or equipment to prevent corrosion
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on MHE fleet
- Perform work effectively to limit operational downtime
- Work with purchasing and the parts group on procurement of parts needed for PMs and repairs
- Interpret diagrams, schematics, specifications, and/or equipment service manuals as needed to troubleshoot and repair MHE
- Perform equipment inspections, identify component wear and potential root cause of wear
- Dismantles equipment to gain access to problems; replaces worn and defective parts; replace / repair broken parts
- Verify all repair work is completed and the equipment is SAFE to return back to operation following any maintenance
- Performs cleaning and other duties as assigned.
- Make recommendations for improvements and modifications
- Complete emergency breakdown repairs on MHE fleet as needed
- Proficient on computers and use of the plant's CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to track and record equipment PMs
- Retain proper documentation / records for all MHE and respective PMs
- Work with a minimum supervision and be capable of strategically prioritizing work
- Contribute to a safe work environment and be a team player, strive for excellence and help establish best practices, including cost preventive measures.
- Capable of embracing the ideas of others (even if they conflict with your own) for the sake of the Company
- Adhere to all federal, state and company safety and compliance regulations.
- Will be required to work with and develop equipment and ideas deemed to be confidential information and/or trade secrets owned by the company. This person will be required to protect the company's rights in and ownership of those trade secrets and confidential information.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 3-5 years of experience in machine systems repair and/or modification. This includes but is not limited to electrical/hydraulic, pneumatic/electrical, mechanical/pneumatic systems and the use of test equipment in troubleshooting. Participate in equipment training and or any associated training offered to develop our skill sets as needed.
- Must be mechanically oriented, a team player, self-motivated, and willing to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as required.
- Must possess manual dexterity, good communication skills.
- Must be able to follow instructions and demonstrate dependable attendance.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
