Reports To: Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) / Chief Information Officer (CIO)

Industry: Healthcare / Hospital & Health SystemsAbout the Role:We are seeking an innovative and tech-savvy Chief Nursing Informatics Officer (CNIO) to bridge the gap between clinical practice and health information technology. The CNIO will lead efforts to improve nursing workflows, enhance patient outcomes, and support the implementation and optimization of electronic health records (EHRs) and digital tools. This executive will play a vital role in aligning nursing practices with informatics strategies across the organization.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the strategic integration of informatics in nursing practice and patient care delivery.
  • Serve as a liaison between clinical nursing teams and IT to translate clinical needs into technical solutions.
  • Champion the effective use of EHR systems and ensure user adoption and satisfaction among nursing staff.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance clinical workflows, patient safety, and evidence-based care through technology.
  • Oversee data governance, integrity, and reporting for nursing-related metrics.
  • Collaborate with IT, clinical, and administrative leadership to align informatics with organizational goals.
  • Provide training and support to ensure informatics competency among nursing personnel.
  • Stay current with advancements in health technology and regulatory changes affecting nursing informatics.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Nursing Informatics, Health Informatics, or related field (DNP or PhD preferred).
  • Active RN license.
  • At least 8 10 years of experience in clinical nursing, with 5+ years in a leadership role involving informatics.
  • Strong understanding of clinical workflows, healthcare IT systems, and regulatory standards.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and project management skills.
