Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM Technical Services Inc., is seeking a Construction Project Manager III in Oakland, CA.Job details:
  • Manage all phases of construction projects (from inception to owner turnover and close out).
  • Administer contract requirements throughout the design, construction, and closeout phases.
  • Conduct Owner, Architect, and Contractor weekly meetings and meet regularly to discuss project status and provide direction and resolution on specific project issues and address with the Project Team. Perform regular project status reporting to executive management team on a monthly basis.
  • Assure that the project is in alignment with program requirements, budgets, and schedules.
  • Provide technical direction and guidance to subordinate team members, enforce company and project policies, and ensure all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors.
  • Work closely with the Client’s Project Management and Directors and build a trusting relationship. Support PMs with developing scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Manage the design phase through the 100% construction documents and work collaboratively with all stakeholders.
  • Attend design review meetings.
  • Secure the approval of designs, permits, and construction documents by the appropriate governmental agencies.
  • Review construction documents including plans and specifications; interpret plans and specifications for construction work performed by client's contractors.
  • Ensure contractual compliance with plans, specifications, regulations, codes, and safety requirements.
  • Perform analysis of change orders. Negotiate fair and reasonable costs for change orders.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to engineers and senior project managers.
  • Provide technical training as appropriate.
  • Prepare a variety of administrative, technical, and budget reports, memos, letters, and correspondence.
  • Manages the day-to-day on-site tasks on various design-build projects with a supporting staff.
  • Assist in the review and resolution of issues.
  • Attend weekly Progress Meetings with Clients.
  • Report to the Client and assure meeting minutes are distributed.
  • Attend OAC meetings and ensure work complies with approved schedules, budget, and plans.
  • Oversee all construction administration functions: Action Submittals, RFIs, PCOs, and COs and assure accurate control logs are maintained.
  • Prepare and/or oversee the reviews of the Baseline Schedule and provide comments.
  • Oversee the review of monthly schedule updates and develop independent schedule analyses as needed.
  • Visit the sites as required.
  • Develop future work for AECOM based on performance and business relationships.
  • Review planning documents for compliance with contract and federal/local government requirements and quality of technical content.
  • Identify stakeholder problems and opportunities in particular areas that could be mitigated through planning. Maintain data for long range and short-range planning.
  • Serve as a liaison between client personnel and other stakeholders regarding project activities, including overall project status.
  • Attend various meetings, conferences, public hearings; prepare and deliver oral presentations to the stakeholders.
  • May supervise senior level engineers (all disciplines applicable), as well as project administration, project controls, scheduling, cost control, estimating and procurement representatives.
  • May telecommute.
  • Position requires 25% domestic travel within Santa Clara County to Milpitas, San Jose, Gilroy, Morgan Hill, Cupertino, Los Altos, Palo Alto, Campbell and Saratoga.
  • Description of site work: cross checking whether all work are being executed per authoritative and client requirements, permit plans, and approved schedule; examining if all safety practices are in place along with quality control standards; client specific request (ground breaking ceremony invites).
QualificationsCandidates must have a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, or related field and 12 months of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.Position requires: * AutoCAD, Bluebeam REVU, and ADOBE PDF;
  • Evaluating existing structures and analyses for project constructability and feasibility;
  • Procore;
  • MS Project and Primavera P6;
  • Preparing Request for Proposals (RFPs);
  • Coordinating and providing review, administration or compliance activities (review plans and submittals and ensure compliance with project specifications and government requirements; conduct site visits and ensure site work completed as per approved plans prior to inspector visits; and ensure safety compliance as per OSHA standards and other regulatory requirements) for industrial, commercial or government (federal, state and local) complex contracts; and
  • Management principles in space and program planning.
