Green Bay, WIGraymont is seeking a Plant Manager in Green Bay, WI. Reporting to the Director of Operations, Central Region, the Plant Manager, will lead all aspects of plant operations, ensuring excellence in safety, environmental compliance, personnel development, production capacity, operational efficiency, product quality, and availability. This role is accountable for directing, coordinating, and optimizing daily activities to drive performance, support strategic objectives, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.Responsibilities:
- Collaborate cross-functionally to apply best practices aligned with One Graymont’s goals
- Manage plant operations to achieve high standards in safety, personnel, capacity, efficiency, quality, and availability
- Ensure compliance with all internal and external health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with regional finance partners to develop and execute operating and capital plans
- Strengthen the plant’s safety culture to prevent workplace and off-site injuries
- Engage employees in driving innovative initiatives for operational improvement
- Develop leadership skills among plant leaders and high-potential hourly employees
- Deploy, develop, and manage the workforce effectively
- Maintain strong relationships with employees, communities, regulatory bodies, elected officials, suppliers, customers, and internal teams
- Enhance the plant’s social license and community engagement
- Implement the Strategic Framework and corporate initiatives with clear communication and alignment
- Contribute to Graymont’s success by sharing knowledge and leveraging internal best practices
- Communicate operational goals clearly and consistently across the plant.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field in engineering, industrial management, or similar discipline. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 10 years in heavy industry, manufacturing, and/or mine processing, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
- Technology Requirements: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); experience with ERP systems and digital reporting tools is an asset.
- Beneficial Experience: Demonstrated success in fostering a strong safety culture, leading teams, driving employee engagement, and managing cross-functional operations in an industrial environment.
- Additional Asset: Strong financial acumen (budgeting, planning, analysis) and excellent communication, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills; ability to coach and develop team members in alignment with Graymont’s World Class Vision.
- Travel Component: Ability to travel within North America, with an estimated travel requirement of approximately 30% of the time.
- Effective Communicator: You are an active listener who can communicate effectively with different audiences in diverse situations.
- Timely Decision Making: You swiftly gather and analyze information, making prompt and accurate decisions that benefit overall goals.
