Job Description:Position SummaryThe Paramedic is a licensed Paramedic and functions under the direct supervision of the Staff Nurse, Department Director, or Clinical Manager of the unit. He/she assists with patient care by performing clinical & supportive functions that he/she has documented competency to perform. The Paramedic adheres to policy, procedures & established standards of practice.POSITION QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATIONMinimum: High school diploma or equivalent; Minimum education required for licensure as a Paramedic in the State of Florida.EXPERIENCENone required. One (1) year of Emergency Services experience preferred.REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATIONState of Florida Paramedic License; BLS and ACLS certification; CPI certification within three (3) months of hire into position. EKG competency on hireOTHER QUALIFICATIONSCompletes blood draw competency within 3-months of hire into position.#LI-JP1Tenet complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce. If you are offered this position and must be vaccinated under any applicable law, you will be required to show proof of full vaccination or obtain an approval of a religious or medical exemption prior to your start date. If you receive an exemption from the vaccination requirement, you will be required to submit to regular testing in accordance with the law.Responsibilities:The Paramedic holds shift accountability for providing care to patients in accordance with recognized techniques, standards of practices and hospital policy and procedures.Qualifications:Education:Required: Graduate of an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic training course.Experience:Required: Paramedic experience.
Preferred: Experience in an emergency room.Certifications:Required: Currently licensed as EMT-P; AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, PALS
