To follow the latest SonderMind news, get to know our clients, and learn about what it's like to work at SonderMind, you can follow us on , , and .About the RoleAs a Senior Engineer, you'll develop and deliver end-to-end features across our backend services (Ruby on Rails or TypeScript/Node) and our Angular/TypeScript front end within our Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) platform. You'll contribute to AI-powered functionality including building intelligent agents with LangChain and LangGraph, implementing evaluation systems, and supporting prompt engineering initiatives that help streamline revenue operations processes. Working with increasing independence under the guidance of staff engineers, you'll solve complex technical challenges and contribute to the evolution of our core monolith and emerging TS microservices. You'll collaborate effectively with product, design, and QA teams while growing your expertise in AI agent development and learning to build systems that reduce manual burden on our support teams.What you'll do
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable Rails or TypeScript/Node services and RESTful APIs
  • Implement and extend Angular/TypeScript UI components for web experiences, including AI-powered interfaces
  • Develop AI agents, evaluation frameworks, and implement prompt engineering solutions
  • Optimize PostgreSQL queries and service performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional squads to define requirements and deliver features
  • Contribute to process, architecture, and toolchain improvements
  • Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and pair-programming
  • Take technical ownership of moderately complex projects, ensuring quality and timely delivery
What does success look like?
  • 30 days: Ship a backend feature (Rails or TS) end-to-end and demo it to the team, incorporating basic AI functionality or supporting AI agent integration
  • 60 days: Lead a cross-team API enhancement that supports AI workflows and contribute to an AI evaluation framework or prompt optimization initiative
  • 90 days: Lead a system-level improvement (e.g., introduce a TypeScript microservice that enables AI agent functionality or refactor a critical service to support LangChain/LangGraph integration), including a clear design, implementation, and rollout plan in place or executed against
Who You Are
  • 5+ years building web services or full-stack applications
  • Strong hands-on experience in Ruby on Rails or TypeScript/Node or Python back ends
  • Solid Angular/TypeScript front-end skills
  • Deep understanding of REST, PostgreSQL, and performance tuning
  • Proven ability to balance short-term delivery with long-term technical investments.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment where requirements evolve.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Nice-to-have: Experience integrating LLMs or AI-driven features
Our BenefitsThe anticipated salary range for this role is $140,000-$160,000 per year. Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, skills, education, and past performance.
