We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Surgery Scheduler to join our Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures for patients while ensuring an exceptional patient experience throughout the scheduling process. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with medical staff and patients alike.Key Responsibilities:- Schedule surgeries and procedures in accordance with physician availability and patient needs.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and hospital personnel to coordinate operating room time and resources.
- Verify patient insurance information and obtain pre-authorization for surgical procedures as required.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding pre-operative instructions, preparation, and any necessary follow-up care.
- Maintain accurate and organized patient records and documentation related to surgical scheduling.
- Process surgical bookings and cancellation requests promptly and professionally.
- Proactively manage and resolve scheduling conflicts and patient inquiries in a timely manner.
- Assist with gathering and updating patient health information, including medical histories and other relevant documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards in scheduling processes.
- Support the office team with administrative tasks as needed to ensure smooth operations of the practice.Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or higher preferred.
- Proven experience in surgical scheduling or a similar administrative role in a healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, particularly related to ENT procedures and services.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and scheduling software.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong customer service orientation.
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes and pre-authorization procedures.Physical Requirements:- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
