As a member of our facilities team, you will support the workplace transformation and maintenance within a wide range of local operations. You will work with an industry leading team that designs, builds/constructs, and maintains facilities and building assets for vast operating functions. Doing so in a safe, compliant, cost-efficient manner that utilizes advanced technology to support social & ecological sustainability Operations ManagementWhat You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities):
- Electrical substation and infrastructure maintenance for the site
- ESWP (Electrical Safety Work Practices) compliance for plant personnel and outside contractor/project teams
- Lead Safety Contractor Management for specific projects
- NPP (Non-Portfolio Project) submittal and project management
- PDPM (Project Delivery Program Management) administration and management
- Oversight of outside services, elevator maintenance, and emergency generators
- Managing purchase orders and submitting financial accruals
- Maintain open communication between the tenant and Sustainable Workplaces SME
- Interface with SA service provider maintenance teams to address ESWP issues
- Drives successful planning and execution of all Global Manufacturing System (GMS) principles and elements
- Organize and review Utilities Interruption Request (UIR)
- Manage the Cogeneration facility.
- Manage operations to provide reliable and cost-effective utility services such as:
- Compressed Air
- Hot/Chilled Water
- Process Cooling Water
- Reverse Osmosis Water
- City Water
- Natural Gas
- Plant Electrical Distribution Network
- Manage wastewater treatment plant operations and provide cost effective treatment.
- Comply with requirements of all environmental permits for the powerhouse
- Administer divisional and corporate policies including safety, housekeeping, reporting etc.
- Implement plans for equipment, process and operating efficiency, and preventative maintenance improvements.
- Maintain operating and environmental records.
- Communicate with customer and others, outside of the powerhouse and wastewater treatment plant.
- Communicate with the UAW and comply with the local and national labor agreements.
- Guide, train and direct hourly and salaried employees as required.
- Provide analysis of technical problems/utility interruptions and execute decisions to solve these problems.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and implement cost controls.
- Prepare appropriation requests for projects required to improve operations.
- Coordinate and drive energy conservation opportunities.
- Direct activities of the Energy Conservation Engineer.
- Manage the EMS system to reduce energy usage.
- Communicate utility performance to the customer and motivate the customer to reduce energy consumption.
- Implement corporate energy reduction programs.
- Manage energy savings projects on time and within budget.
- Develop and implement energy sufficiency plan to meet budget and communicate results.
- High level of knowledge of powerhouse operations
- High working knowledge of site-wide electrical power distribution
- High level of knowledge of wastewater treatment operations.
- Proficient in the use of office software (Word, Excel) and knowledge of computer software as it pertains to the job responsibilities.
- High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others and motivate employees.
- Demonstrates excellent level of analytical ability, communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues.

- Level D substation training for medium voltage switchgear
- Level B substation training for low voltage switchgear
- Experience with industrial electrical power distribution systems rated 13,800 V and below - This includes substations, motor control centers, busway, power panels, control panels and drives
- Ability to read electrical distribution one line and switching diagrams and documents
- Knowledge of load calculations
- 8+ years of facilities maintenance/management experience preferred
