Essential Job DutiesThis Temporary Events and Student Programs Assistant position supports event and operations planning and student programs for NC State Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IE). The role assists with the implementation of activities, programs, meetings, and large-scale events that foster entrepreneurship across campus. This position works collaboratively with the NC State Innovation and Entrepreneurship team to deliver high-impact entrepreneurial experiences and opportunities. The position reports to the Events and Operations Manager.Work Schedule
IE business hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Flexible work arrangements, including hybrid schedules, may be available. Supporting co-curricular activities and events will require occasional evening and weekend hours, along with occasional travel.Duties
- Manages the planning, coordination, and assists in the strategic design of large-scale events that support entrepreneurship across the university; including but not limited to: venue selection, catering, speaker coordination and scripts, participants, volunteer management, vendor management, and virtual/hybrid accommodations.
- Leads all event planning for IE student startup competitions such as VenturePack Challenge and WolfDen.
- Supports logistics for central programming and other recurring activities/programs that support entrepreneurship across the university, including but not limited to: venue, catering, speakers, participants, volunteers, and other vendors.
- Works collaboratively with the NC State Innovation and Entrepreneurship team on event/program planning and coordination, ensuring strategic goals are met and marketing resources are utilized for promotions and advertising.
- Collaborates with the team to facilitate public Garage tours and entrepreneurship simulations (e.g., tours and simulations for K-12 groups, as well as other members of the public and external partners).
- Assists the Event and Operations Manager with IE student trips as needed.
- Provides event support for the Entrepreneurship Student Ambassador Program (ESAP); provides logistical support for ESAP meetings and programs.
- Assists program lead with the LaunchPad Incubator program; provides logistical support for LaunchPad meetings and programs.
- Actively participate in NC State Innovation and Entrepreneurship programming and events.
- Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.

- High School Diploma
- Excellent interpersonal skills

- Must have flexibility to work extended hours when required.
- Excellent written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively
- Proficiency with G-Suite (Gmail, Docs, Drive, Calendar, Sheets)
- Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Experience with project management tools such as Monday.com
