As a Sanitation Housekeeper, your primary function is to keep the plant clean and in orderly condition. Attention to detail and adaptability is essential. The employee will report to the department supervisor/leads in which they are assigned. The individual(s) assigned to this job will perform the following tasks in various departments (Box, Forming, Kitchen, Packing, and/or Wrapping) as listed below:What you will be doing…
- Assures that front hallway ,windows, doors remain clean and sanitary.
- Keep lawn mowed in front of the plant and retail store.
- Outside trash receptacles in front of the plant and retail store emptied daily.
- Walk outside ground/parking lot picking up trash/cigarette butts.
- Assist in pickup iof of trash compactors and cleaning floor underneath.
- May be assigned other duties by plant management as required.
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must be able to read and write in English
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to routinely and frequently stand, stoop, bend and lift overhead during a 10 hour shift
- Must be able to stand on hard surfaces for the duration of a 10 hour shift
- Ability to read and understand rulers, tapes, scales and thermometers
- Ability to read and understand product specifications established by Russell Stover Chocolates and recognize deviations from those specifications
- Safety. Your safety is important to us, so we provide protective gear. We also go through an in-depth Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) training on your first day and continue to share safety tips daily
- Surroundings. You’ll be working around different machines – Schubert’s, forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and chocolate candy banks/steels.
- Activity. Some activities may require standing in one place for long periods, walking around, or climbing stairs/ladders, and routinely lift 50 lbs.
- Temperature. You will be comfortable year-round with our climate-controlled environment. Our temperatures are consistently around 63°F but could fluctuate depending on your specific role.
- Smell. You will enjoy a variety of deliciously sweet aromas and you may end your day smelling like chocolate!
- Dress code. Relaxed, with a few rules to follow for food safety, personal safety and in guidance with our good manufacturing practices (GMP). Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are required. Leather, imitation leather, or rubber boots or shoes must be worn in the kitchen and other areas when working around hot liquid/product or hot water.
