
Maintenance Mechanic

- Corrects and repairs minor plumbing, to include flush valve, drain stoppage, faucet repairs and shower valve repairs.
- Corrects med gas valve leaks by rebuilding front bodies as required.
- Corrects and repairs minor electrical problems such as replaces ballasts, receptacle and light switches.
- Performs all general maintenance assignments as required.
- Completes inspections according to established procedures completing log sheets, checklists and PM sheets as required.
- Completes required documentation in reference to mechanical systems as required by federal, state and regulatory agencies.
- Assist other skilled workers and performs general maintenance work as requested.
- Facilitates the efficient operation of the department by answering the telephone and assisting callers or visitors with request.
- Safe handling/disposal/packaging for Transport of Pharmaceutical Waste / Hazardous Materials / Biohazardous Regulated Medical Waste.
- Completes the Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCA) and Hazardous Waste education during employee orientation.
- Tri-annually education for the D.O.T. training.
- Knowledgeable of the process for identifying the proper waste stream and uses the appropriate container to dispose of waste.
- Knowledgeable regarding the process to contact the emergency response coordinator for hazardous waste / pharmaceutical release / spill clean-up.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
