- Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans to help patients develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working.
- Conduct therapy sessions under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, following established goals and treatment strategies.
- Guide patients through therapeutic activities and exercises to improve strength, coordination, fine motor skills, and independence.
- Monitor and document patient progress, noting changes in performance and communicating observations to the supervising OT.
- Prepare and maintain therapy equipment, materials, and treatment areas to ensure a safe and organized environment.
- Instruct patients, families, and caregivers on exercises and adaptive techniques for continued progress outside of therapy sessions.
- Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) program
- Knowledgeable in occupational therapy, multi-disciplinary childhood-intervention theories, and rehabilitation principles and practices.
- Utilizes Sensory Integration and occupational therapy techniques used in the assessment and treatment of children with disabilities.
- Must relate well to children and their families.
- DOJ/FBI Live Scan Background & TB Clearance
- Pro-Act, CPI and/or CPR certification helpful
- Requires frequent reaching, handling, sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, running, carrying, and lifting 50 or more lbs.
- Must be able to see and hear within normal range with or without correction.
- The noise intensity level is moderate to high
