We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Referral Specialist to join our medical office team. This role is responsible for coordinating patient referrals to specialty providers, obtaining and processing medical records, and ensuring accurate documentation within patient charts. The Referral Specialist will work closely with patients, providers, and specialty clinics to ensure seamless continuity of care.Key Responsibilities:Process referrals for patients to specialty clinics as requested by providers.Request, track, and obtain medical records to support patient care and maintain accurate documentation.Enter and update referral information in patient charts using the practice's electronic health record system.Communicate with patients regarding referral status, required documentation, and next steps.Collaborate with specialty offices to schedule appointments and confirm referral requirements.Maintain compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards.Provide support to the front office team as needed.Qualifications:Minimum of 1 year of medical office experience (clerical/administrative side).Experience with electronic health records (Athena experience preferred).Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.What We Offer:Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, no nights or weekends.Training and support provided for referral processes.A collaborative and supportive work environment.
