- Create formulations and bench top samples for internal and external customers – quickly, accurately, and within agreed time frame.
- Hands on bench top work in the lab working with compound and chocolate.
- Lead formulation scale-up from bench-top to production.
- Complete detailed documentation of all research projects.
- Communicate directly with internal and external customers regarding projects, applications, specification, and manufacturing issues.
- Procure technical documentation for new raw materials.
- Develop technical specifications and process specifications.
- Conduct research for quality improvements, cost optimization, process improvement and innovative ingredient and process technologies.
- Assist with internal and external customer technical issues regarding ingredients, formulation, and manufacturing.
- Assist and work on formulating and manufacturing coatings, chocolate, and fillings in a small scale lab environment.
- Perform all tasks assigned by supervisor, while following all company, safety, and quality policies and procedures.
- Travel to industry tradeshows, conferences, suppliers, customers, and/or CQC facilities.
- Maintain regular attendance at work.
- B.S. or M.S. in Food Science, Food Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of product development experience in the food manufacturing industry
- Experience with compound coatings, chocolate or confections is strongly preferred.
- Ability to provide superior customer service, where flexibility to meet customers’ needs is essential.
- Demonstrated multi-tasking skills working in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with cross functional teams.
- Must have acceptable driving record and valid driver’s license
- Work near allergens, such as peanut, tree nuts, dairy, and soy.
