- Perform experiments at the bench level to support investigative work.
- Prepare and maintain laboratory reagents, stocks, cultures or cell lines.
- Perform and modify documented protocols and assays.
- Maintain laboratory records and compile data on experiments and assays.
- Interpret and report on experimental results.
- Perform statistical analysis of test results and prepare written reports on work performed.
- Operate and carry out basic maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Order and maintain appropriate levels of supplies.
- May supervise work-study students.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Identify methodological problems in research protocol and implement modifications to optimize experimental results.
- Prepare and present written or oral progress reports concerning studies including assembly, organization, and interpretation of data.
- Assist in the design of experiments; may be responsible for the performance of individual research projects.
- Conduct literature reviews to assist in determining most suitable methods to be used in research.
- BA/BS in a relevant field.
- Must have scientific knowledge in the area of study and basic laboratory skills.
- Independent clinical or research experience in addition to school lab experience.
- 2 years of experience working in a laboratory or equivalent experience
- Experience culturing bacteria, and especially anaerobic bacteria; with protein expression, especially in vitro protein expression; with molecular biology, particularly digital PCR; and with automated liquid handling
- Investment in community-led research efforts will be given preference.
Research Technican II: The hourly pay range for this position is from $25.71 to $36.60 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.Assistance with domestic relocation is a possibility for this role.Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center offers employees a designed to enhance health, well-being, and financial security.
