IMS provides sustainment support for the US Air Force B-1, KC-135, and numerous other Government platforms. Our team members complete engineering, reverse engineering, and logistics solution efforts to solve complex obsolescence problems and ensure warfighter supportability.Primary responsibilities of this RF Design Engineer will be to support large projects within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) during execution of various program activities, including Test system design and evaluation, design and development of communication, flight controls, navigation, radar, avionics, technical planning, requirements development and tracking, system integration and verification and validation.Responsibilities:Support the development of RF system architectures including block diagrams of hardware design concepts from system requirements, industry standards, and requirements flowed down by systems engineers.Simulate RF systems, subsystems, and circuits using industry standard simulation tools including Keysight Advanced Design System (ADS) and Cadence Microwave Office (MWO).Modeling of system level functions using Matlab or other modeling tools for analysis prior to hardware implementation.Test and troubleshoot prototype and production hardware in the lab using RF, analog, and digital test equipment.Work closely with software and hardware team in developing and testing control software for RF circuits and subsystems.**This position may be filled at either Principal or Sr. Principal RF Microwave Design Engineer level.Basic Qualifications for Principal Level:Must have one of the following:Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with a minimum of 5 years of relevant RF/microwave engineering experienceMaster’s degree in a STEM discipline with a minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering experience with MastersCandidate must have experience with RF systemsCandidate should have experience testing antennas and antenna arrays including evaluating antenna parameters and patternsProven knowledge of electrical engineering design software and equipmentCandidate must have solid written and verbal skills to effectively interact with Government counterparts, other defense contractor organizations, and other cross-functional organizationsExperience with Electronic troubleshooting from component to assembly levelsAbility to obtain and maintain a DoD Security ClearanceBasic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Level:Must have one of the following:Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with a minimum of 9 years of relevant RF/microwave engineering experienceMaster’s degree in a STEM discipline with a minimum of 7 years of relevant engineering experience with MastersA PhD degree in a STEM discipline with a minimum of 4 years ofdngineering experienceCandidate must have experience testing antennas and/or antenna arraysCandidate must have experience with testing and evaluating antenna parameters and patternsProven knowledge of electrical engineering design software and equipmentAbility to obtain and maintain a DoD Security ClearancePreferred Qualifications:Experience in military, government, commercial aerospace industry (e.g. aviation/equipment maintenance, aircraft operations, or commercial industrial technology companies)Experienced with the design, analysis and architecture of Passive Antenna Array systemsExperience with the use of RF test equipment like spectrum analyzers, network analyzers and waveform generatorsExperience with cable management and cable assembly requirements for RF and fiber optic applicationsExperienced developing technical data packages and documentation supporting HW baselines via engineering drawingsFamiliarity with RF and mixed signal printed circuit board and circuit card assembly level designFamiliarity with RF budgeting, frequency planning, RF chain analysis and modeling, schematic capture, electromagnetic simulation, signal integrity analysisPrimary Level Salary Range: $0.00 - $0.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $0.00 - $0.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
