Monitor feed and speed of machines throughout the machining process. Perform in-process inspections to verify that parts meet specifications and tolerances. Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges for inspection. Maintain documentation of inspections and report any deviations or defects. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions. Set and manage tools, assessing tool life and wear.
Utilize specialized or advanced variation tools as required. Apply basic Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles. Review and understand daily job assignments. Load raw materials into machines and verify proper alignment. Conduct machine warm-ups and complete all safety checks before operation. Continuously monitor machine operations, making real-time adjustments as needed. Maintain accurate records of production output, scrap, and rework data. Ensure tools and equipment are clean, calibrated, and stored properly at the end of each shift. Participate in team meetings and provide feedback on process improvements. Report any mechanical issues or potential failures to the supervisor immediately.
