Every one of us is Chiesi."PurposeThis role is an important member of the Medical Affairs team who will be responsible for the Medical Information and Communications function for all Care Business Unit drug products at Chiesi USA. Within Medical Communications, this includes management of processing and fulfilling medical information requests (MIRs), medical review of promotional and non-promotional communication materials, and supporting other scientific exchange activities.
The position is an office-based role located at our office in Cary, NCMain ResponsibilitiesMedical information
- Manage reception, triage, escalation, and process of MIRs for the Care Business Unit at Chiesi USA
- Manage and maintain the medical information management system and digital channels for Care Business Unit at Chiesi USA
- With the support of the Director of Medical Communications, oversee the quality of medical information call center inquiry and response handling through regular auditing and by conducting periodic drug product training for call center in assigned therapeutic area
- Develop, maintain, manage, and review medical FAQs, Standard and Custom Medical Information Response Letters, slide decks, infographics, and other engaging content
- Translate complex scientific information into clear, concise and engaging content
- Provide regular reporting of trends, insights and metrics from medical information activities
- Responsible for managing the Medical Review Board (MRB) for all Care Business Unit drug products at Chiesi USA; including but not limited to the development, review and/or approval medical affairs materials
- Serve as the lead Medical reviewer on the Promotional Review Board (PRB) for all Care Business Unit drug product commercial communication materials
- Participate in the development and success of the medical communications function within medical affairs. Contribute to strategic and tactical planning within and across therapeutic areas, such as:
- managing project plans, vendor oversight, business process management, systems optimization, and document repositories,
- defining innovative channels for the delivery of medical and scientific content to reach target audiences with creative content creation
- Support medical information booth and scientific insight gathering at congresses; provide Medical Affairs team with knowledge and intelligence from scientific congresses and the literature
- Support field-based scientific communications by working closely with the medical science liaison team to ensure the accuracy, relevancy, and timeliness of therapeutic area scientific knowledge
- Manage and administer the scientific medical affairs library within Medical Affairs systems
- Develop and maintain internal, external, and global stakeholder relationships; represent Chiesi at meetings and conferences, in interactions with KOLs and in collaboration with other functions.
- Manage multiple priorities with great attention to detail and a sense of urgency
- Minimum of 4+ years of medical information and medical affairs experience which may also include safety, regulatory, publications, promotional review, and scientific communications or completion of a residency in medical information or a related pharmaceutical industry-specialty
- Effective written and spoken communication skills in combination with the ability to critically analyze and summarize scientific data, for scientific and non-scientific audiences
- Knowledge of medical information standards and regulations relevant to the US
- Knowledge of medical information tools and systems
- Experience with medical information call centers is preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills in developing and maintaining successful stakeholder relationships (internal and external)
- Project planning and organizational skills
- Proven ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries
- Exceptional communication in English, verbal and written
- High adaptability in managing shifting priorities and short timelines.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- PharmD or PhD in life sciences or equivalent required. Advanced science degree with demonstrated experience will also be considered.
