
Data Analyst

- Audit, analyze, and produce data reports related to student assessment, standardized testing, student behavior, DESE Accountability system, and others as assigned
- Work with departments to coordinate, analyze and report critical school achievement data
- Help schools improve their data practice by meeting with individuals and teams to share resources and strategies for analyzing and acting on data
- Responsible for data accuracy, performing regular audits, and working with stakeholders to ensure accuracy of data across systems
- Support school and district leaders to reflect, analyze and act on data
- Develop protocols, processes, and routines for data analysis at the school level
- Identify key questions from the data to drive school turnaround work
- Provides a high level of support to HPS staff by responding to data requests in a timely manner
- Analyze, interpret, and prepare data reports required or requested by federal and state entities as well as district departments. Acts as a liaison between the district and any state or regional databases and/or warehouses
- Provide support for Holyoke Student Information System (PowerSchool), and assessment platforms
- Identify and report gaps in data collection methodologies prior to the internal and external release of compiled data and work collectively with user departments to implement process improvements to fill identified gaps
- Identify gaps in efficiencies and work to create better work flows and processes
- Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree supplemented by a minimum of three (3) years of previous experience in a related field.
- Sophisticated skills in a range of technology tools and software including but not limited to Microsoft Office applications, Google suite. Knowledge of Python or R a plus
- Experience with state data reporting in regards to SIMS, EPIMS, SCS, and SIF preferred
- Experience with a Student Information System or similar personnel-management platform
- Service-oriented: Willingness to support and collaborate with colleagues, schools, and district leaders. Contributes to the district-wide vision for turnaround
- Demonstrates exceptional problem solving, critical thinking, organizational, data analysis, written, verbal and oral skills
- Ability to translate complex data sets into easy-to-understand reports and presentations for broad audiences;Proficient in quantitative analyses and ability to translate data into digestible findings
- Self-motivation and willingness to learn independently: respond to challenges or uncertainties with resourcefulness, creativity, hard work, and resiliency. Willingness to learn new systems and tools for assessing learning
