Shift: 1st Shift | Monday–FridayJob SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Logistics Coordinator to join our team. This role is responsible for coordinating shipments, managing carrier relationships, preparing transportation documents, and ensuring efficient and cost-effective delivery of goods. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills, with prior experience in transportation or distribution customer service.Key Responsibilities
- Source and arrange bookings for truckload carriers.
- Plan and track shipment of final products according to customer requirements.
- Coordinate carrier coverage for loads requiring dray service.
- Prepare bills of lading and related transportation documents.
- Determine efficient and cost-effective shipping methods for export orders; negotiate pricing as needed.
- Assist Accounts Payable with processing carrier invoices.
- Accurately update in-house TMS system.
- Monitor customer scorecards and update Sales/Operations on vendor ratings.
- Review and verify documents from third parties (letters of credit, bills of lading).
- Respond to customer inquiries or concerns regarding transportation.
- Request quotes, maintain carrier rate data, and manage carrier relationships and performance.
- Gather and update data for Distribution Center/Transportation.
- Adhere to company policies, values, and safety standards.
- Maintain open communication with supervisor/manager regarding matters of importance.
- Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma required.
- Minimum of 2 years’ customer service experience, preferably in distribution or transportation.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- PC proficiency and ability to operate standard office equipment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and focus on quality and efficiency.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Good judgment and decision-making skills.
- Primarily desk-based role requiring long periods of sitting.
- Manual dexterity required to operate a computer, phone, calculator, copier/scanner, and other standard office equipment.
- Office-based role with typical noise levels (conversation, office equipment).
- Work performed in a shared office setting.
