- Leverage big data, capabilities in cloud environments, and multiple sources of data to identify signals and integrate those signals into modeling for explication, prediction, or production.
- Prepare raw data for manipulation by data scientists, data analysts, and business partners.
- Manage ETL processes in new and existing data pipelines to create clean datasets for use in analysis.
- Conceptualize and generate infrastructure that allows big data to be accessed and analyzed.
- Conduct ad-hoc projects, reports and analyses as determined by management.
- Write clean, efficient code to automate processes and improve workflows.
- Work with version control systems to manage source code efficiently.
- Create documentation, code standards, code library, and workflows to enhance the Revenue Analytics infrastructure.
- Develop dynamic and flexible visualizations and dashboards to illustrate key trends and KPIs.
- Construct statistical models and present findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Work with the Pricing and Revenue Management teams to identify new opportunities and deliver actionable analytics solutions to drive precise action and maintain competitive advantage.
- Work with a wide variety of teams with diverse technical backgrounds.
- Clearly communicate the actionable business implications of complex quantitative analyses to management.
- Bachelor's Degree required; major(s) in Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, Aviation Management, or related analytical field strongly preferred; combination of education and work experience considered in lieu of degree.
- Master’s degree in quantitative field preferred.
- Previous professional use of SQL, Python, or R required.
- Previous professional experience using big data required.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, pricing, or revenue management required.
- Experience in an airline pricing, yield or revenue management, revenue analytics, revenue systems, or similar role strongly preferred.
- Intermediate SQL skills to write complex, highly optimized queries against large datasets.
- Ability to write SQL code to query against disparate data sources.
- Familiar with object-oriented programming languages, like Python.
- Experience with distributed computing frameworks, such as Hadoop or Spark.
- Familiar with cloud-based solutions, like Azure.
- Familiar with API frameworks such as REST API to query data writing complex JSON/XML queries.
- Familiar with version control systems, like Git.
- Experience with Power BI or Tableau preferred.
- Knowledge or interest in statistics or machine learning preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of airline commercial metrics, economics, network design, and revenue management principles preferred.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Exemplary written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to structure logical analytical approaches and to apply a range of quantitative techniques to solve business problems in an efficient, timely manner.
- Comfortable working with limited guidance to creatively solve analytical challenges with limited data and imminent deadlines.
- Strong work ethic; delivers results in ambiguous, time-pressured situations.
- Sound judgment and ability to maintain composure under pressure.
