- Fleet Management: Oversee the maintenance and repair of all waste collection vehicles, ensuring they are safe, reliable, and meet operational needs.
- Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to reduce downtime and extend the life of the fleet.
- Team Leadership: Lead, train, and manage a team of mechanics and technicians, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations to ensure high standards of work.
- Budget Management: Manage the fleet maintenance budget, including labor, parts, and external services, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining quality standards.
- Compliance: Ensure all fleet operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including DOT and OSHA requirements, and maintain accurate records for audits.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the inventory of parts and supplies, ensuring that necessary materials are available for timely repairs and maintenance.
- Vendor Management: Work with external vendors and service providers to negotiate contracts, manage relationships, and ensure high-quality service.
- Safety Management: Promote and enforce safety protocols, conduct regular safety meetings, and ensure all team members are trained in safe work practices.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on fleet performance, maintenance activities, costs, and compliance to the Operations Manager.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance fleet performance, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in fleet maintenance or management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role, preferably within the waste management or transportation industry.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair procedures, and fleet management practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in fleet management software and tools.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Licenses/Certifications: ASE certification or equivalent is preferre
