Position Summary...What you'll do...An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job related responsibilities and duties as assigned and/or necessary.Job DescriptionOptical Lab Production Floor AssociateEssential FunctionsAn individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation.Inventory Department: Ensure productivity of facility by processing work orders to workload and prioritizing orders; maintains quality, accuracy, and integrity ofInventory by scanning product in and out of departments using system software; sorting, placing, and storing freight or work orders in proper locations; moving freight manually.Finish Department: Produce andmanufacture corrective eyewear by preparing lenses for production (for example, tracing, blocking, first inspection); producing lenses for placement in frames using edging equipment; manually mounting lenses in frames and assembling eyewear; and completing cosmetic add-ons(for example, polish, tint).Surface Department: Produce and manufacture corrective eyewear by preparing lenses for production (example, layout, taping, blocking); creating curvature and thickness of lenses according to prescription using lens grinding equipment: applying hard coating lo lenses; and preparing lenses for add-ons (example, tint, no glare).Maintain quality standards by reviewing and analyzing work tickets or other information for accuracy; adhering to standard operating procedures; and evaluating produced work for quality.Communicate with other Wal-Mart associates and vendors verbally or in writing.Leadership ExpectationsAn individual must be proficient in each of the competencies listedbelow to successfully perform the responsibilities of this position.Judgment: Make Effective Choices: Uses policies, procedures, and/or guides to make good choices.   • Apply sideways/upward/downward pressure to tighten and loosen hardware (for example, nuts, bolts).
  • Differentiate sounds in order lo inspect and maintain equipment, identify potential hazards, or recognize safely alarms. Enters and locates information on electronic device.
  • Grasps, turns, and manipulates objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Lift, push, pull, and carry tools, objects or equipment above shoulder level without assistance. Moves up and down a ladder.
  • Moves up and down stairs.
  • Moves, lifts, carries, and places merchandise and supplies weighing up to 40pounds without assistance. Reaches overhead and below the knees. including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Use crossovers to access opposite sides of conveyors. Visually inspects equipment.
  • Visually locates merchandise and other objects. Walk within work area for extended periods of time.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, which could include, but not be limited to lifting protection, fall protection, eye protection, hearing protection. respiratory protection, chemical protection. climate protection and electrical protection such as protective footwear.
  • Sit for extended periods of time.
  • Stand for extended periods of lime.
  • Visually verifies andreads information, often in small print
