Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- 12+ years of engineering experience, including at least 8 years in a systems engineering leadership role.
- Proven track record in delivering complex automation systems involving both hardware and software integration.
- Deep background in systems integration, architecture, and risk analysis methodologies (DFMEA, SFMEA).
- Experience with safety assessments, testing, and validation of automation systems.
- Deep domain expertise in one or more key railroad transportation control technologies, such as: Train Control and Management Systems, Signaling systems such as Positive Train Control (PTC), Energy Management Systems, Remote Control Technologies, Locomotive Vehicle Systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and align diverse teams as well as customers.
- Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional collaboration and technical execution.
- Experience managing third-party technical development and integration efforts.
- Lead systems engineering and integration for automation products from prototype through MVP, pre-production, and market launch.
- Define and manage system-level requirements and architecture across hardware and software components.
- Contribute to hands-on design and development to advance technical maturity of the solution.
- Facilitate and lead technical design reviews, risk assessments, and validation planning.
- Develop and manage project plans and schedules aligned with business needs.
- Track technical, schedule, and budgetary progress to ensure alignment with product milestones and goals.
- Collaborate with ATG’s Go-To-Market (G2M) product leader and cross-functional teams across Wabtec to integrate technologies and capabilities.
- Serve as the lead technical interface with customers, development partners and supply chain.
- Engage and manage third-party vendors and partners to execute portions of the technical solution and ensure successful integration with internal systems.
- Apply systems engineering best practices including DFMEA, SFMEA, safety assessments, and human factors considerations.
- Influence and inspire cross-functional teams to align and execute toward a shared technical vision.
