We are seeking a detail-oriented Manufacturing Technician to support the production of DNA oligonucleotides for research and development applications. This hands-on role involves operating DNA synthesizers, managing purification workflows, documenting results, and ensuring production runs smoothly, accurately, and efficiently. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills, organizational ability, and a commitment to quality and safety in a fast-paced laboratory environment.Key ResponsibilitiesOligonucleotide ProductionManufacture DNA oligonucleotides using solid-phase synthesis techniques on DNA synthesizers.Apply both technical and theoretical knowledge to ensure accuracy, quality, and timeliness of results.Support purification processes, including gel purification, in collaboration with the Oligo Purification team.Prioritize, schedule, and execute syntheses to meet deadlines, including rush or repeat orders, while balancing efficiency and turnaround times.Lab Operations & InstrumentationSet up, maintain, and troubleshoot DNA synthesizers and related equipment.Ensure lab supplies, reagents, and instruments are adequately stocked and functioning to minimize downtime.Perform routine analyses such as HPLC, LCMS, and UV spectroscopy as needed to support manufacturing.Assist with routine lab maintenance and safety practices, including ISO and QSR compliance.Documentation & ReportingMaintain thorough and accurate documentation in lab notebooks, SDMS, or electronic systems.Record synthesis data, order details, and results in established formats to ensure consistency and traceability.Summarize experimental results and review findings with supervisors or project leads.Compile and prepare data for reports, presentations, or scientific analyses.Order Processing & Vendor CoordinationProcess incoming oligo orders and collaborate with supervisors to determine in-house manufacturing vs. external outsourcing.Coordinate with approved vendors to fulfill outsourced oligo requests.Deliver completed oligo orders and maintain clear communication with project leaders regarding progress and issues.Collaboration & CommunicationPartner with the purification group to ensure smooth handoff of oligos.Keep supervisors informed of project status, significant findings, and critical challenges.Assist other team members in the lab as needed to maintain workflow and meet production goals.Safety & ComplianceFollow all internal safety guidelines and comply with external regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA).Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.Actively participate in lab safety initiatives and audits.QualificationsPrior laboratory experience in oligonucleotide synthesis, purification, or related molecular biology techniques is highly desirable.Familiarity with instrument troubleshooting, reagent preparation, and analytical techniques such as HPLC, LCMS, and UV spectroscopy preferred.Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines.Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.Understanding of quality systems (ISO, QSR) and regulatory standards is a plus.Who You Are
