The Staff Nurse Role.
  • Assures that all the health needs of the patients are met.
  • Communicated with supervisor to ensure that all medications, treatment and therapy health requirements are met for all patients admitted to Seton Residence.
  • Ensures all health service notes are pertinent for the care rendered, including patient response.
  • Assists with supervision of nursing assistants, meal assistants and transportation aides for serving diets, assisting with or feeding patients, and noting the problems related to eating and fluid intake.
  • Promoted continuity of care by maintaining lines of communication with physicians, supervisory staff, and other health team members.
  • Administers medication to patients as ordered.
  • Makes rounds with Medical Director/physicians as assigned.
  • Assists in evaluating the performance of the nursing assistants, meal assistants and transportation assistants.
  • Gives and receives daily report on patients.
Qualifications we're looking for.
  • Graduate from an accredited program of nursing.
  • Current unencumbered license to practice by the State Board of Nursing.
  • Previous experience in a health care or long-term care facility preferred.
  • Must maintain a professional approach with confidentiality.
  • Must be able to endure at least 70% to 100% of scheduled shift requiring physical demands including but not limited to: standing, walking, climbing (1ft. to 4ft.), stooping, bending, stretching, pushing, pulling and lifting (maximum of 100lbs utilizing appropriate lift equipment). Must follow guidelines to seek assistance if documented assist of 2 is needed.
