- Responsible for recruiting, career development, coaching, performance management, and succession planning for automation engineers and technicians.
- Defines resource needs for new initiatives and assigns personnel to ensure optimal project execution and organizational alignment.
- Manages contract personnel to support daily operations and project delivery, while managing associated budgets to ensure efficiency and alignment with organizational goals.
- Ensures all automation related activities and documentation are performed in alignment with current data integrity requirements.
- Instills technical rigor, ensures thorough root cause investigations for deviations, driving for continuous improvement in operational excellence.
- Reviews and approves deviations, change controls, and technical reports to ensure quality and compliance.
- Serves as a strategic liaison between the corporate Engineering Tech Center (ETC) and the BRD organization to foster collaboration and alignment.
- Acts as a key interface with Tech@Lilly organizations to support cross-functional initiatives and innovation.
- Serves as the System Custodian for designated computer and automation systems, ensuring system integrity, compliance, and performance.
- Ensures staff adherence to all applicable Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) and Quality System requirements.
- Ensures staff training requirements are clearly articulated and staff are properly qualified to perform assigned duties.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related science field
- Minimum 5+ years of pharmaceutical manufacturing experience in engineering or related functional area. Considerations will be made for experience in other manufacturing sectors.
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in Process Automation/Control engineering.
- Previous supervisory experience or demonstrated technical leadership.
- Ability to collaborate across diverse teams and cultures.
- Knowledge in data systems, historians, and reporting platforms.
- Knowledge of project management and vendor management
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Experience in Capital project delivery
- Technical expertise in one or more automation platforms
- cGMP Regulatory knowledge in process or automation engineering

- 0-10% Position is 8 hour days with flexibility to support activities during shutdowns, weekends, etc.
