A culture where great ideas thrive because every voice is heard.Primary Location: United States (US) - Iowa - AnkenyAs a Material Storage & Retrieval employee with John Deere Des Moines Works in Ankeny, IA, you will:Perform material storage & retrieval related duties in a production environment focused on safety, quality, and teamwork. Job details are dependent on duties assigned but in general consist of the following:
  • Operate power driven equipment such as forklifts and industrial trucks to move material, parts, and equipment.
  • Stock and pick raw materials to support production teams.
  • Read Bill of Material (B.O.M) to determine alternate uses and identify slow moving material.
  • Distribute and maintain inventory across production facility.
  • Read and comprehend work instructions and follow established procedures.
  • Assist and support other team members.
  • Clean work area and perform other miscellaneous duties inherent to the job.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have at least one of the following:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC)
  • At least 3 years of manufacturing work experience
  • Ability to perform manual tasks related to described job duties for duration of work shift; including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and performing of repetitive actions.
  • Ability and willingness to work 1st shift and potential overtime (including weekends).

  • At least 1 year or more of continuous material handling and/or warehouse work experience; including experience operating a forklift.
