Responsible for keeping the machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of an establishment in operation and good repair. Leads a group of engineers to design systems of programmable, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic controls for machines and equipment. Assists other departments to maintain their costs to the lowest by implementing systems that could improve product quality, efficiency and downtime. Duties and Responsibilities
Assigns workers to perform activities such as service appliances or equipment and install machinery and equipment.
Directs, coordinates, and assists in performance of workers’ activities.
Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders, and constructs templates and lays out reference points for workers.
Trains workers in methods, procedures, and use of equipment and work aids, such as blueprints, hand tools, and test equipment.
Monitors operations of the facility and inspects, tests, or measures completed work, using devices such as hand tools, gauges, and specifications to verify conformance to standards.
Confers with management to coordinate work activities and resolve problems.
Responsible for suggesting methods to improve area operations, processes, efficiency, and service.
Examines any system, object, or facilities to determine installation, service, or repair needed.
Establishes or adjusts work methods and procedures to meet production schedules, using knowledge of capacities of machines, equipment, and personnel.
Computes estimates and actual costs of factors, such as materials, labor, and outside contractors, and prepares budgets.
Requisitions materials and supplies such as tools, equipment, and replacement parts for work activities.
Completes and maintains reports such as time and production records, inventories, and test results.
Recommends measures such as procedural changes, service manuals revisions, and equipment purchases, to improve work performance and minimize operating costs.
Patrols work area and examine tools and equipment to detect unsafe conditions or violations of safety rules.
Confers with Industrial Equipment Integration companies to resolve problems regarding building of controls systems.
Reviews schematics and components with supplier representatives to answer questions before and during installations/commissioning.
Modifies program/system logic involving multiple systems and subsystems. Addresses potential problems and carries out appropriate actions individually or proposes solutions to the project engineer depending on the severity of the problem.
Confers with Industrial Equipment Integration companies to resolve problems regarding building of controls systems.
Reviews schematics and components with supplier representatives to answer questions before and during installations/commissioning.
Modifies program/system logic involving multiple systems and subsystems.
Addresses potential problems and carries out appropriate actions individually or proposes solutions to the project engineer depending on the severity of the problem.
May inspect and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
May perform or contract for performance of certain tasks such as installations, repairs, fabrications, or replacements.
Develop electrical and controls systems to provide solutions based on engineering principles, company standards, customer requirements and project specifications.
Provide training and technical support to our Controls Engineers and Maintenance Technicians.
Prepare work instructions for new integrated process, equipment and technology.
Performs or contracts for weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance checks on equipment and systems such as furnaces, sprinkler systems, filters, and timers.
Estimates costs of repairs - Records repairs made and actual costs.
Maintains a favorable working relationship with all employees to promote a cooperative and harmonious working environment in order to facilitate positive employee morale, productivity, and continued improvement.
QualificationsRequired Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or three to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of materials, methods, and the appropriate tools to construct objects, structures, and buildings.
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Based on competence and need, training in Hazardous Waste for this position may include, but is not limited to: ISO 14001 Awareness, ISO 14001 Internal Auditing, ISO 14001 & Beyond, ISO 14001 Top Management , HazWaste/Operator Program Training, HazWaste Manifest Training, HazWaste/Core Program/Manifest Training, HazWaste/Crisis Mgmt. Training.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Experience in automotive manufacturing and /or engineering and sales driven business
Experience working in a Germany based (international) organization
Bilingual German/Spanish a plus
