Continuation past the term length discussed will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding.POSITION SPECIFICSThe Waltemeyer Department of Chemical Engineering has a postdoctoral scholar position in the research groups of Professor Seong Kim, Gina Noh, and Ezra Clark at The Pennsylvania State University, University Park campus.The individual will work on developing in-situ analysis capabilities using SFG, IR, and Raman for thermal catalysis and electrocatalysis applications. Two SFG systems (one is scanning ps-system, and the other is broadband fs-system coupled with microscopy for hyperspectral imaging) are currently being used in Prof. Kim's lab housed in the Millennium Science Complex. Another focus of the work will be to advance the photothermal AFM IR technique, which is available at the Penn State . The postdoc will also be responsible for enabling collaboration within the catalysis community in the department.Candidates must have a PhD, preferably in chemistry, chemical engineering, or material science by the start date. Ideal candidates have experience with instrumentation and SFG.
