- Work closely with experienced professionals across a variety of functional groups (manufacturing, quality, engineering, etc.) to define, develop and implement measurement systems.
- Transfer measurement technology from early-stage development to a system ready for installation in a manufacturing environment
- Develop and apply measurement system analysis techniques to ensure proper measurement system application and capability.
- Leverage external suppliers with key technologies or systems integration expertise to develop, procure, build, and install measurement systems in Corning’s production facilities.
- Design experiments and analyze data to identify and implement measurement integrity and efficiency improvements to measurement systems or production processes.
- Develop and manage documentation in support of measurement system deployments including machine specifications, operating procedures, and drawing packages.
- Train plant engineering, maintenance and operations associates on use and maintenance of measurement systems.
- Visibly support the establishment and maintenance of a safe work environment
- Standard Hours (Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm)
- Flexible hours may be required to support weekends/evenings operations requirements
- BS in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Physics
- 3+ years of work experience in measurement science, measurement systems, or related area.
- Exhibit problem-solving skills as it relates to troubleshooting and debugging industrial measurement systems
- Experience in reading electrical, mechanical and control schematics for industrial equipment
- Demonstrate excellence in science and engineering fundamentals
- Able to work effectively in technical project teams in both leadership and team member roles
- Able to make sound decisions by blending analytical thinking, practical judgment, and available data
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to independently define problem hypothesis and problem statements, design experiments, and evaluate data using scientific and statistical tools
- Ability to work closely with internal customers across multiple cultures around the world to meet their requirements
- Strong initiative and self-motivated
- Comfortable generating and delivering updates to leadership on a routine basis
- Experience in programming preferably C#, Python and Windows scripting
- Working knowledge of the integration of measurement systems into a global information technology architecture.
- Sound understanding of manufacturing principals and experience in a global manufacturing environment.
- Experience with computer-based measurement or automation equipment, design, setup, and support.
- Experience with Measurement Uncertainty Analysis (preferred), Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R), and/or Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
- Experience utilizing CAD for designing electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems.
- Demonstrated use of advanced software for modeling and/or statistical analysis
- Experience programming and utilizing machine learning algorithms
