- Lead and develop a quality team of direct and indirect reports, ensuring skill growth and strong performance
- Oversee and improve the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards (e.g., AS9102)
- Implement and maintain quality processes, procedures, and documentation across the department
- Use statistical tools and root cause analysis to identify and resolve quality issues
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to ensure product and process reliability
- Collaborate with design engineering to integrate quality standards into product development
- Manage supplier quality systems, including audits and supplier performance improvement
- Oversee incoming and final inspection processes to maintain material and product quality
- Generate quality metrics and reports, driving data-informed continuous improvement initiatives
- Partner with manufacturing and other departments to address bottlenecks and improve on-time delivery
- Ensure cross-functional communication with production, engineering, supply chain, and leadership teams on quality matters
- Foster a culture of quality and accountability across all shifts and employee levels within the plant
- Minimum 10 years of quality management experience, preferably in manufacturing or aerospace industries
- Strong background in leading and developing quality teams of varying sizes
- Proven experience with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and aerospace quality standards (e.g., AS9102)
- Hands-on experience implementing quality processes, procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Skilled in root cause analysis, statistical methods, and problem-solving techniques
- Experience conducting risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies
- Familiarity with supplier quality management, including audits and supplier performance improvement
- Knowledge of inspection methods for incoming materials, in-process, and final product quality
- Proficiency with quality reporting, metrics, and Statistical Process Control (SPC) implementation
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams
- Six Sigma BlackBelt or equivalent quality certifications highly preferred
- Experience with optical manufacturing or precision components is a strong plus, but not required
