- Assist in the enhancement of legal real estate processes and procedures, including operations, documentation, training, and policy enforcement.
- Assist with legal real estate operations and documentation review, including, independently preparing and reviewing Estoppel Certificates based on information received from real estate, lease compliance, construction, and facilities departments.
- Effectively manage working cross-functionally with all business units internally and externally.
- Organize and assist with lease information, data, including redacted leases, to internal departments to keep real estate and compliance documents up to date.
- Prepare and process the execution of Memorandum of Lease, leverages experience and analysis for improvement in processes.
- Own the drafting of lease amendments, while assisting with analysis and data for all amendments.
- Assist real estate projects and collaborate cross-functionally with store development to maintain real estate terms.
- Assist with regulatory and litigation responses and project management.
- Draft license agreements, such as curbside, storage signage, and other miscellaneous agreements.
- Provide Real Estate Attorneys with analysis through thorough research and expertise to inquiries and correspondence.
- Supports the creation of a long-term process for the legal department to monitor completion of anti-corruption, conflict of interest, and other compliance campaigns.
- Recommends relevant Business Partners on best ways to mitigate potential conflict of interest scenarios.
- 1-2 years experience in legal support at retail or consumer goods company
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, effectively prioritize multiple projects simultaneously under time-sensitive deadlines, and adapt quickly to changing priorities;
- Strong project management skills with an emphasis on being detail oriented and organized;
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams;
- Enthusiasm for taking on new and additional responsibilities as business and team needs evolve; and
- Passion for continuous learning and professional development, with flexibility and willingness to dive into any projects requiring support.
- Notary Public or willingness to become Notary Public
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with databases and document management software
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to details
- Excellent time management and ability to handle multiple deadlines
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, communication, negotiation, drafting, and problem-solving skills
- Effective team player in a small group
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
