OverviewLingo Staffing is seeking a Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Service Technician for a direct hire opportunity in Indianapolis. This role is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting ground support equipment, including aircraft tugs, belt loaders, ground power units, air conditioning units, and refueling vehicles. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and skilled in diagnosing and repairing electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance inspections and service on GSE.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues quickly to minimize downtime.
- Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
- Clean, organize, and maintain shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
- Order and install replacement parts as needed.
- Coordinate with managers on maintenance schedules and test results.
- Work onsite at customer locations as needed.
- Provide guidance and occasional training to junior team members.
- Prior hands-on experience in equipment maintenance or repair.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to work across electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Skilled in troubleshooting using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills with attention to detail.
- Work may involve outdoor environments, heavy machinery, and varying weather conditions.
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods, bend, stretch, push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to visually inspect and service equipment.
