- performs scrub duties according to procedure
- selects and organizes supplies and equipment specific to the proposed surgical procedure
- anticipates changes and makes adjustments in case preparation according to the variation in the surgical procedure
- performs all counts per protocol
- assists in the or circulating duties under the direction of a registered nurse
- monitors and supports aseptic technique
- assist in evaluating the quality and care of equipment, instruments, and supplies
- assume responsibility for the care of specimens
- identifies and prepares appropriate emergency equipment
- makes necessary changes in instrumentation in emergent cases
- assist the surgical team as assigned
Documents actions consistent with established policies at ABMCUtilizes effective and communication skills in relationship with other health care membersFunctions as a team members and assumes delegated responsibilities that contribute to team, unit and department objectives.Assists in decisions about, and evaluations of service capital equipment.Participates in the development of policies and procedures.Participates as a team member in providing feedback to charge nurse, team members, L&D staff and leadership for areas needing improvement.Participates in Unit and Department Continuous Quality Improvement activities.Provides other L&D duties as requested by charge nurses managers as assigned.Work effectively and positively with other employees.Maintain professional , service oriented demeanor in all interactionsProvide quality service to all customersComply with policies and procedures outlined in the Alta Bates Medical Center Human Resources Policy ManualEDUCATION
- Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
