The Mechanical Assembly Technician provides the highest quality work ethic and character for assembling the Maag family of equipment to include: Dryers of all sizes and TWS systems with an emphasis on hitting customer delivery dates.Position description - Tasks, responsibilities, competencies(List 8-10 specific tasks - start each description indicating an action e.g. leads, advises, develops etc.)
- Assemble dryer rotors and housings.
- Balance rotors on all size dryers.
- Build and mount dryer component parts such as agglomerate catchers and pellet diverter valves.
- Perform leak tests on dryer and tank housings
- Engrave equipment name plates.
- Fills out check sheets while assembling the equipment.
- Put together piping assemblies.
- Other tasks as assigned by manager.
The incumbent is obliged to perform tasks requested by management that relate to his position scope or arise from company needs including OT and weekends when needed. This job description reflects current status, right to make changes reserved.Work Environment
- Work in this position is mainly at the Eagle Rock assembly floor but the incumbent could be asked to assembly at the Roanoke facility when needed. While performing the duties of this job in a factory setting, the employee may be moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud and PPE may be required.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The employee must be able to lift items up to 50 pounds.
- The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- The employee will be required to have fork lift training and regularly use lifts and ladders to assemble on structures off of the ground five feet or higher.
Mandatory
- High School diploma or equivalent education (additional technical skills a plus)
- Mechanical background and a general understanding of tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized and efficient in approaching tasks
- Independent self-starter with ability to problem solve and anticipate and avoid issues
