Job Purpose/DescriptionThe Social Work Tutor and Group Leader will be a role model student and leader in their content area. They offer tutoring appointments and weekly drop-in sessions for student academic support.Job Duties
  • Tutor students (individual and small groups) in-person and online (through Zoom) by appointment.
  • Host weekly drop-in sessions to provide academic support to individuals and groups in Social Work courses.
  • Establish personal contact and rapport with students while being identified as an academic resource and role model.
  • Communicate with faculty to align on preparation objectives and content while using appropriate facilitation techniques.
  • Provide general academic success strategies
  • Meet with faculty and the Academic Access & Support Coordinator throughout the term for debriefing purposes
  • Complete necessary paperwork (attendance sheets, timesheet, sign-in sheets, and evaluations)
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Maintain an accurate, up-to-date Google Calendar.
  • Other duties as may be assigned and/or necessary.
Required Qualifications
  • Must be a current CSS student
  • Must be a full-time CSS student in Fall 2025 in the Social Work program
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5
  • Professional poise to represent the College
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong service orientation and the ability to interact with a wide variety of people in a friendly, professional manner
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to perform all of the above functions during an assigned workday without significant risk of injury
Preferred Qualifications
  • Federal work study eligibility is preferred
  • Students with leadership experience
