
Senior Estimator

The Senior Estimator will be responsible for evaluating project costs throughout all stages of preconstruction-from conceptual estimates to detailed take-offs, bid solicitation, and purchasing.Key Duties:
-Accurately calculate quantities and costs for both hard-bid and negotiated projects
-Research current material, labor, and equipment pricing
-Quantify and price self-performed work
-Develop detailed scopes of work across multiple bid packages
-Solicit, evaluate, and award subcontractor bids
-Conduct risk assessments and constructability reviews
-Prepare conceptual and schematic estimates using knowledge of building systems and cost data
-Maintain strong professional relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and industry peers
Required Skills & Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
-7-10 years of experience in commercial construction estimating
-Broad understanding of commercial construction sectors, including:
--Higher education
--Institutional
--Office
--Retail
--Healthcare
--Warehouse/manufacturing
--Multi-unit residential
-Familiarity with the Pittsburgh construction market is preferred, but not required
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities
-Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and collaborate effectively within project teams
-Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications
-BIM familiarity is a plus, though not required
-Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), Microsoft Project, and digital take-off/estimating softwareJob RequirementsRequired Skills & Qualifications:
