SUMMARY: Under general supervision, operates specialized door pre-hanging machinery, and/or equipment and tools used in interior door pre-hanging production.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
  • Accurately read order tickets to pull and prepare material for machining (i.e., doors, door jambs, door stop, casing, etc.)
  • Set up machinery in appropriate manner for operation.
  • Operate machinery in safe effective manner.
  • Ensure accuracy and quality of machined materials.
  • Communicate with other team members in a timely and effective manner to ensure production efficiency.
  • Communicate any machinery and equipment breakdowns and failures to supervisor.
  • Maintain machinery and equipment as required to ensure proper operation.
  • Wear appropriate PPE and observe all safety rules and requirements.
EQUIPMENT, MACHINES OR VEHICLES USED IN THIS POSITION: Door loader, door machining station, door nail-up, jamb router, jamb stitcher, miter saw, table saw, band saw, pneumatic staple gun, pneumatic drill, pneumatic nail gun, cordless drill, air gun nozzle, and various non-powered hand tools.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), plus 1-year prior experience and/or training in related millwork, construction or lumber industries; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 6 months prior experience working on machines and good mechanical aptitude is required.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Forklift Certification may be required.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
