Job Description:ANTICIPATED - Special Education Inclusion Teacher - Long Term Substitute - Swampscott Elementary School - Approximately October 2, 2025 - June 15, 2026Responsibilities:Complete evaluations, write IEPs, and progress reportsProvide specialized instruction and accommodations to students with academic and/or behavioral/emotional regulation challengesWrite behavior support plans and collect data to inform progress and interventionsKnowledge of Social Thinking Curricula, Zones of Regulation requiredFacilitate social skills groups and incidental teaching techniques for social skillsConsult with the general education teacher, support staff, and specialistsConsult and train inclusion support staff on the implementation of behavior support plans, data collection, and accommodationsCommunication with familiesSkilled in the use of Google SuiteQualifications:
Master’s level required
3 years of experience preferred
Moderate Disabilities DESE certification in the required grade level
Requirements:
Must have at least 2 excellent references
Must pass all required screenings, including CORI, SAFIS fingerprinting, and 1-9 eligibility to work in the U.S.
Experience in working with children, preferably within an educational setting
Strong communication skills, both written and spoken
Must be physically capable of and willing to engage in providing levels of support which may include modeling, coaching, and verbal, visual, and/or physical prompts required to meet the student's individual needs as stated in an IEP
Must be able to walk 8,000-10,000 steps per school day

Physical Requirements:This position may require long periods of standing, walking, and sitting; talking or hearing in person and by telephone; using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects or controls; reaching with hands and arms. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The individual may be exposed to ultraviolet lights as are found in computer monitors and copying equipment.
