- Attentive and responsive to children's needs, able to handle emergencies and conflicts in various settings.
- Physically capable of lifting 30 pounds and moving quickly to ensure child safety.
- Able to engage with children at their level, including sitting on the floor and maintaining eye contact.
- In good health, with a physician's statement and proof of being free of tuberculosis.
- New York State Registry and Criminal History Fingerprint clearance.
- At least 18 years of age.

- Knowledge of NYS child care regulations and NAEYC guidelines.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to maintain positive relationships with children, co-workers, and parents.
- Creativity, patience, and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Flexibility in scheduling and practice to meet the needs of the program.
- A high school diploma (or equivalent) and a commitment to fostering children’s development.
- Preferred: At least one year of experience working with children.
