The global supply chain also includes cultured and wild species from a network of trusted sources worldwide.Follow Trident on the Web at or on social media on , , , , orSummary: The Assistant Plant Manager will report to the Plant Manager and is responsible for the overall operation of the production department, strategy development, and providing functional direction to supervisors. A high focus on Continuous Improvement (CI) activity is a key responsibility of the position. This is a great opportunity to lead CI and to play a leading role in delivering and sustaining, profitable growth. This position is located in Anacortes, WA but occasional travel to other plants may be needed.This position leads a team of approximately 5 direct reports overseeing approximately 200 employees.Key Responsibilities:
  • Directs all activities related to operations and production in accordance with Global Supply Chain's business plan and the strategic goals of the Company and business units.
  • Collaborates with Plant Manager to set strategic goals and vision for the site as well as short and long-term plant goals.
  • Maintains a safe work environment, deliver organizational safety goals, implement, and adhere to Trident Safety Program
  • Directs and manages the overall production plan for the operation, including supervising the day-to-day operations that come with implementation.
  • Collaborates with functional area managers on the determination of materials, space, equipment, and personnel needs as well as the development and implementation of processes, procedures, assignment and execution of functional responsibilities, and determination of budget and costs constraints.
  • Evaluates performance against production goals and adjust the allocation of resources (e.g., personnel, equipment, materials) as needed to optimize quality and quantity of production and cost-efficiency of operations.
  • Initiates and ensures execution of Continuous Improvement activities in pursuit of Trident Global Supply Chain goals and objectives. This includes TPS implementation, SCUBA initiatives, other Operational Excellence activities as well as acting as a liaison between OpEx Team and plant improvement teams.
  • Manages direct reports, assigns work to staff, provides coaching and training, sets goals, is accountable for performance evaluation, plans staff development, and makes and approves people management decisions either alone or in collaboration with management and HR.
  • Works closely with Plant Manager providing assistance as needed.
  • Acts on behalf of Plant Manager during their absence.
  • Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Acquires knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.
This is a salaried exempt position with an annualized salary range of $100k to $145k.Trident Seafoods offers a comprehensive and quality benefits package.   • A combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience, including 5 or more years of leadership/supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior Continuous Improvement (CI) experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing principles, including lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Just-in-Time (JIT) methodologies.
  • Practical working knowledge of Total Productive Management (TPM) in a food manufacturing environment
  • Batter and Breading Production Experience
  • Experience in the Seafood Industry/Industrial Food Processing
  • Proficient in MS Office programs
  • Proven track record of successfully driving process improvement initiatives and achieving operational excellence.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse workforce.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
