Job Title: Entry-Level Paraplanner / Financial Planning Assistant
Location: Edina, MN

Reports To: Lead Financial Advisor / CFP®
Compensation: $50,000 - $60,000 Based on ExperienceJob Summary:We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Entry-Level Paraplanner / Financial Planning Assistant to support our advisory team in delivering high-quality financial plans and exceptional client service. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or career starter interested in gaining hands-on experience in the financial planning profession with a path toward becoming a Financial Advisor or CFP®.Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in preparing financial plans, retirement projections, and investment analysis under the direction of a lead advisor
  • Input and maintain accurate client data in financial planning software (e.g., eMoney)
  • Support the creation of meeting prep materials, client summaries, and follow-up action items
  • Gather and organize client documents, including tax returns, account statements, and insurance policies
  • Draft and review client correspondence, emails, and documentation
  • Assist in monitoring account activity and helping ensure timely implementation of recommendations
  • Maintain CRM records and assist with scheduling, calendar management, and client follow-ups
  • Stay informed about financial planning topics, products, and regulatory changes
  • Participate in team meetings and training to build planning knowledge and technical skills
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Financial Planning, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • Desire to pursue industry licensing, including SIE, Series 7, Series 66, and Life Insurance licenses
  • Desire to pursue CFP® certification (or currently enrolled in a CFP® education program)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with CRM or planning software a plus
  • Professional demeanor and interest in a client-focused career
Preferred But Not Required:
  • Internship or previous experience in a financial planning or advisory firm
  • Familiarity with custodians (e.g., Schwab, Fidelity, LPL, TD Ameritrade)
  • Experience with financial planning tools or CRMs (e.g., Redtail, Wealthbox)
