The Outreach Coordinator oversees the development and implementation of public education and outreach programs, and assumes responsibility for creating, planning, preparing, and executing varied programs to reach targeted populations.Core ResponsibilitiesPlans promotional, educational, and other events to increase community awareness.Develops a network and database of community contacts, agencies and services.Researches and prepares reports, records, and other documentation to coordinate and implement public and outreach programs.Develops creative strategies to effectively communicate awareness of outreach programs.Responds to public inquiries about program(s).Trains personnel to carry out an effective public education and outreach programs.Distributes educational literature.Documents daily activities and the number of contacts reached or served through outreach initiatives.Maintains effective lines of communications with current and prospective clients to ensure program goals and objectives are met.Promotes services offered to the targeted group.Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.Department Specific FunctionsDevelop and reach out to new partners to pitch Age Like A Pro Program (ALP)Develop social media, and flyers to increase community awareness.Manage existing network and database of community contacts, agencies and services.Coordinate and implement ALP outreach programs.Develop creative strategies to effectively communicate awareness of outreach programs.Responds to public inquiries about program(s).Support presenters to carry out an effective ALP outreach programDistributes educational literature and materials at each program.Maintains effective lines of communications with current and prospective clients to ensure program goals and objectives are met.Promotes services offered to the targeted group.Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary.CORE QUALIFICATIONSHigh School diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferredMinimum 1 year of relevant experience required, preferably program outreach experienceKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Communication skills written and verbalPresentation skillsAbility to complete assignments accurately and with attention to detail.Ability to reach out to prospective partnersAbility to problem solveAbility to process and handle confidential information with discretion.Ability to work weekends if needed for outreach programCommitment to the University’s core values.Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.The University of Miami offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, tuition remission and more.UHealth-University of Miami Health System, South Florida's only university-based health system, provides leading-edge patient care powered by the ground breaking research and medical education at the Miller School of Medicine.
