We're seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President to join our Credit Risk team supporting Broker-Dealers. This role is located in Pittsburgh, PA In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways: The BNY Loan Desk is a component of Credit Risk that manages an overnight and intraday loan portfolios to support the credit needs of various financial market participants. Interact daily with many Financial Market Utilities regarding the trading activity and associated settlement/margin obligations of mutual customers Consult, review and challenge lending transactions from inception to closing. provide high quality written credit analysis of complex transactions and make presentations of these findings as appropriate or needed Exercise strong credit and analytical judgment, while making decisions in a timely manner. Write, prepare and/or review analyses of creditworthiness of borrowers within the financial institutions sector. Writeups cover purpose of financing, sources of repayment, and quality of collateral (if any) in response to requests for credit from Institutional Lending (first line of defense, “1LOD”) or lines of business. Monitor news of assigned borrowers, which may involve recommendations on re-ratings of internal borrower credit ratings, reviewing financial statements, earnings reports, rating agency/analyst/industry reports. Assisting with risk management efforts for the overall credit risk group (second line of defense, “2LOD”), such as Credit Analysis & Approval and Portfolio Management. Helping with the development of documentation and reporting as needed. Work closely with senior credit relationship managers, portfolio management, 1LOD/client executives, and with analyst teams Help identify existing and emerging risks that are applicable to the assigned credit risk portfolio given industry trends, economic conditions, current events, etc. To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following: Bachelor's Degree is required. MBA or graduate degree in a business-related field is preferred. The candidate must have a minimum of 5 to 8 years' experience in Credit risk management, or financial risk management. The candidate must have strong communication skills and demonstrate a record of accomplishment and excellence in delivery. Strong relationship management skills and ability to partner with a large array of constituents; ability to manage and influence change are required. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment that demands quick thinking, problem solving, and effective relationship skills.
